Plan a Visit
Feeling a little nervous about a first visit is completely normal. This page answers what you are probably wondering — read it, and you will know exactly what to expect.
1. Choose a meeting near you
Find the nearest hall on the Meetings page. If you are unsure, leave your area on the Contact page and we will introduce you.
2. Let us know you're coming (optional)
No registration is needed. But if you tell us, a brother or sister will meet you at the door and sit with you.
3. Come as you are
There is no dress code. A T-shirt and jeans are perfectly fine. Just bring yourself.
4. Stay for the love feast
We eat together after the Lord's Day meeting. Visitors are our guests — there is no charge.
FAQ
What you are probably wondering
- What is a meeting like?
- The Lord's Day table meeting runs about ninety minutes. The first half is worship and remembrance — we sing, pray, and share the bread and the cup in remembrance of what the Lord accomplished for us. The second half is fellowship in the Word, with saints standing to speak one after another. No one will call on you; you are free simply to sit and take it in.
- May I take the bread and the cup?
- The bread and the cup are for those who have already believed into the Lord Jesus and received Him as Savior. If you are still seeking, simply pass them on — no one will think anything of it, and we are so glad you are here.
- Will I be asked to give?
- No. We never pass an offering plate or solicit funds. Visitors should feel no obligation at all.
- What about my children?
- Children are very welcome. Most halls provide children's care or a children's meeting; children are also entirely welcome to stay in the meeting.
- What if I don't speak Chinese (or English)?
- Yes. Most meetings provide Chinese/English interpretation, and the USC and Irvine meetings are bilingual. Just tell us your preferred language when you contact us.
- Will I be pressured or asked personal questions?
- No. We will not use your information for anything but personal fellowship and prayer, at your pace.
